Following the sparker measurements in 2024, we took sediment cores this year to validate the acoustic measurements.

May-July 2024

Over the past few months, we have been working on different carrier systems for Kongsberg's EA440 with multiple transducers.

Ultimately, we built the entire setup on the basis of the Calypso drone. Now we can probe the sediment with three frequencies: 200, 38, and 15 kHz. The initial data evaluation takes place in the “Sonar5Pro” software.

January 2024

Testing of the compact UHRS-Sparker system together with GeoMarineSurveySystems (GMSS) on three quarry lakes in southern Germany. The aim was to achieve the highest possible penetration into the uncompacted material (sand/gravel) in order to better estimate the remaining gravel quantities.
